If you’re clinging on to the last days of summer and looking for a way to beat the heat (which is virtually impossible here in Houston), Six Hundred Squared has you covered.

The Houston Press has been on it lately with trying to get Houston in the mix of cities with a good live music scene. First it was the Free Press Summer Fest ala ACL, now comes the Music Awards on Saturday August 7 with a SXSW set up. Tickets are $15.00 (+$1.81 Fee) online up until Saturday. You can purchase tickets at the door for $20. The main event is at the Bud Light Stage located at Washington Ave. and Silver Street. The other venues are 10 different bars
located along Washington. The parking lots are at Memorial Drive & Houston Avenue or TC Jester and Schuler (A complimentary shuttle will be available with the purchase of a wristband).

This event sounds like a lot of fun for people who are attending, probably not so much fun for anyone who lives on Washington or anywhere in the direct vicinity. I have a feeling the traffic situation is going to be double worse than usual.
